Brahma Kumaris don't Teach Meditation - They Focus on Awareness
People visit Brahma Kumaris (BK) centers to learn meditation but find it a bit confusing that there doesn’t seem to be any clear method, technique, or step by step process of something called ‘meditation’ at all. This is because Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga isn’t based on a thought process at all, but rather on awareness. What is awareness? All day long we are aware and not aware of different things. If you were to be in a room right now attending a job interview, you would be aware of how you are dressed, your body language and how you are greeting the interviewer. You might be aware of their body language and reaction to you; aware of your immediate surroundings and of the context of the job and company. Your awareness of your bank account, your bills and the job market may also be somewhere in your awareness. You might be aware of how qualified or underqualified you are for the position. Awareness of all these factors is like a multiple layered web, merged in this single moment. It colors what you think, feel, perceive, focus on and ultimately how you behave. Recently I posted online a quote which many people liked ‘Enter a room as if God sent you there’. Those who resonated with this particular awareness have probably already deeply thought about the various aspects of it; who is God? who I am? What might God expect of me in any room or situation? We like the quote because we recognize that acting with this awareness is more likely to bring meaningful positive outcomes. This is how the Brahma Kumaris knowledge works. Instead of giving you a method to quiet or focus the mind, it gives you hours and hours of new concepts or knowledge with the aim of expanding your awareness. Much in the way that one person in an interview situation may have a very limited awareness, and therefore limited influence in the outcome whereas a more aware person will be able to factor in the personality and biases of the person they are talking to, the history and current situation of the company, the requirements of the job, etc and have more possibility of influencing the decision. The awareness of being an eternal soul, playing a temporary part through this costume, experiencing the result of past actions (karma), and creating with the future with current actions. The awareness of this physical dimension being the stage, rather than the home of the soul, that the true home of all souls is a dimension of silence and peace where the Supreme Being resides. The awareness of that all souls apart from God, travel through time and lose touch with their innate divine essence. These are some of the first simple ideas we are made aware of when we visit a Brahma Kumaris Centre. What keeps us attending after the 7 days course, decade after decade, is experiencing the profound effect that awareness of any of these concepts has on our consciousness. They bring lightness, they bring a broader perspective, acceptance of life, a feeling of love for all other beings. And the deeper we ponder and remain in these spiritual states of awareness, the more powerful its influence in our lives. We develop a multi-faceted awareness which enables us to comprehend a much broader view of what is going on within us, around us and beyond us. And a broader view translates as wisdom. This is why BK’s don’t chase a moment of final enlightenment but rather aim to surround ourselves with as many influences which help to deepen our awareness and keep it in line with truth. How do we know if our awareness is coloured by truth or falsehood? By how it makes us feel. When you are sensitive enough you will know the difference between the good feelings of security, peace, love, benevolence, generosity, based on spiritual truths, and the slightly anxiety laced ‘good’ feelings that come because things are going well, or you are consuming your favourite meal in front of your favourite show. If your awareness is coloured by truth, the fruit is true good feelings and the wisdom which enables clear and clean actions; actions which bring benefit to the self and others rather than complicated situations which arise from acting in confusion. It’s a lifelong journey to increase and stay in higher levels of awareness, and it’s a journey with plenty of peaks and troughs along the way. That is why not all BK’s, despite having the same knowledge, are in the same awareness. And even one individual will not always be at the same level of awareness. But it is a journey where even a little bit of attention brings a lot of rewards. So, when you a visit a centre, and someone speaks or plays you a guided meditation or you find one on-line, you haven’t stumbled across the ‘BK Method for Enlightenment’. But you have found a charming little summary of the main concepts of BK knowledge, which if you really listen to them, rather than just be lulled by the music and soft voice, you will begin to experience the start of the awakening of a new level of awareness.

How to Work Out Your Cognitive Functions
The 4 letters which give you your MBTI ‘Type’are really a code. This code once understood, explains what cognitive functions you use and in what order. There are eight functions, and we all use them all, but use four predominately. And within those 4, each has its own role. In this video, I provide a brief intro to the 8 cognitive functions, and then show you how you can work out which are your main functions and how they operate to express what can be understood as temperament. I believe this is the most crucial of my MBTI video’s so far, in enabling you to understand how the machinery of the MBTI system works. So, be a little patient with me as I break it down step by step, so you can start to work out for yourself the puzzle pieces, and use them to understand your own and others ‘basic’ personality patterns quickly and easily.

The 4 MBTI Sub-Groups - Short Cut to Understanding the 16 Types
16 Different Types can be a bit overwhelming to understand and remember when you first learn about MBTI. But there is an easy short-cut to getting the first basic vibe or impression of the types. There are 4 subtypes within the 16, based on two letters or dichotomies. These 2 letters are a great starting point for making sense of the model. This video will give you a good introduction to getting your head around the 16 types, by breaking it down into four sub-type families, and making sense of what they have in common
